Connect ChatGPT or Claude to your ERP: MCP, OAuth and a first test

Complete two distinct connection steps

First connect your ERP to Advisable.AI using the system's connector form. Then connect the external AI application to the available MCP connector for that saved connection. An AI subscription alone does not establish ERP access.

ERP credentials belong in the connection form. The external application uses the MCP URL and authorization process to obtain access you approve. Keep business questions in conversation messages.

Prepare the connection card and account access

Open an active connection available to your Advisable.AI account. Confirm its name, system and company. Copy the complete MCP URL from its saved card, including the path, and the OAuth client details when needed.

Check whether your Claude or ChatGPT account permits custom connections. A workspace administrator may need to enable access. External application menus and restrictions change; consult the official sources below for current availability.

• An active connection and permission to use it.
• The complete MCP URL from its saved card.
• OAuth Client ID and Secret if using a predefined client.
• Custom connector or developer-mode access in the AI application.
• A small business question with a result you can verify.

Use the correct OAuth settings

OAuth lets you sign in to Advisable.AI and approve the application's access. OAuth client details are application settings, separate from your ERP username and password. Advisable.AI also supports dynamic client registration when the application offers that path.

If the form offers a predefined OAuth client, use the card's corresponding values in those settings. Keep the secret out of descriptions and prompts. Complete authorization with the Advisable.AI account that has access to the connection.

Add the connection in Claude

Find Connectors and the custom connector option. Enter a recognizable name and the card's MCP URL. Review authentication and follow the card's OAuth instructions, then sign in to Advisable.AI and approve access.

Team and Enterprise organizations may need an owner to add the connector first. Once configured, enable it in the conversation where you want to use it.

1. Open Customize → Connectors and add a custom connector where available.
2. Enter the name, complete MCP URL and card's OAuth settings.
3. Complete connection and authorization in Advisable.AI.
4. Enable the connector for the conversation.

Add the connection in ChatGPT

In ChatGPT on the web, check for Developer mode and custom connections. Add the server through Plugins using the complete MCP URL. Choose OAuth and use a predefined client or dynamic registration according to the form presented.

Sign in to Advisable.AI, approve and inspect the discovered tools. Enable the connection in a new conversation. If an option is missing, check account access and workspace policy with the ChatGPT administrator.

Prove that real records are available

Ask for a small real result and verify it in the ERP. A general explanation of sales is not evidence that the connector works. The answer should use a tool and identify the retrieved data.

For the wrong company, review connection settings. Missing tools suggest checking URL, authorization and conversation activation. An ERP permission error requires checking the underlying system account.

Choose a daily working environment

Choose the application your team uses and the access controls it needs. Advisable AI provides conversation within Advisable.AI. Claude and ChatGPT require their own connections and follow their own terms and data settings.

When comparing results, keep the same instructions and connection. Different AI applications may present the answer differently. Company, filters, completeness and calculations should still agree.
